Someone posted an interesting investment possibility - buying a foreclosed home, fixing it up and renting it to somebody.

The idea sounds great - except that i have a speech and hearing impediment - i would need someone who could judge who a good renter would be and deal with the tenants, especially if they are a problem.

Is there such a thing as hiring someone to be a landlord and how much would it cost? Or do real estate owners always have to deal directly with tenants?

If the returns are good, you can hire a manager, not a landlord. Smiley you can hire a real estates manager to help you with all that.

You would hire a Property Management Company - most home and apartment rentals are handled by these experts!

Best wishes and good luck.
