I am a 24 yr old single mother of two.  I make about 24k a year and my credit is far less than perfect, probably in the 500's. I want to buy a house.  I have thouhgt about FHA or HUD home but don't know what to do.  Please advise if anyone has been in this situation before.  I really don't know what to do. Thanks
P.S. I live in Louisiana and the pay and the housing isn't as much as other states.  My credit is bad due to medical bills.  The last one being about 3 yrs ago or so.

jeez where do you live? 

24k with 2 kids is like groceries, clothes, and supplies for 1 year!
