You don't.  Any financial mortgage arrangements between your landlord and a lender are strictly confidential.  The first hint you might have is a public notice in the classifieds of the local newspaper indicating an intent to foreclose.

Do a search online for pre-foreclosure listings.  There's a website that offers the information free, and if your home doesn't show up, you should be relatively safe.  If it does, then you know to start looking elsewhere.
